Highlights:

Light and best looking package around

Direct messaging for all users (3 Step process)

Functional Design of packaging (no extra tabs or material waste)

Received in ~2 weeks

Processing payments in ~5 minutes

Lowlights:

Envelope a little damaged

Envelope at first glance for iPhone users (Android users correct me if you received something different)

Benefits:

UX: User friendly across the board, mom’s, dad’s, SMB’s, enterprise. You open, you read a 3 step process, you plug and you collect payment!

One thing that did cross my mind was if I was an android user and an SMB would I get past the massive iPhone nods. One possible way to remove a layer of friction is during the signup phase (phase before I received my Square) if Square could map the handset field to the user and tie it out to the package, ie If I signed up for an android device I see an android device on the package.

Biz: Overall the experience was faster and less complicated. Of course you have to imagine reduction in shipping costs with the weight decrease too. Square rocks.

12 Tips For Using Press Releases In Local Online Marketing

12 Tips For Using Press Releases In Local Online Marketing :
Press releases have long been a preferred (and now a patented) part of optimizing sites; when done well, they can be a good method for link building on steroids.
